Expertly crafted from merino fiber, this shawl has been created by hand weaving hand spun art yarns. The woven section has been made on hand made loom especially crafted for this project and woven with my hand spun yarn. There is a considerable amount of yarns involved in this shawl. 5 different skeins have been spun to create that scarf shawlette. On this particular one I crocheted a border on top to add length and shape (see it can be folded). Just the fringe took an entire skein of hand spun. Everything is hand-dyed to achieve rich, saturated colors, this versatile piece can be worn in multiple styles.
This capelet is quite thick and 1.5 pound !!
Please refer to the photos of the shawlette worn to see the different ways to wear this. Over a coat or with broader shoulders or bust the shawlette will sit higher and will be more around your neck and face while the fringe will be just below your shoulder lane. I took various photos of the shawlette worn to see you the differences in how it can be worn. Remember the model is petite 5’2”.
This shawl weight one pound and 19 inches flat width per 20 inches long. This is round total circumference is 38” (19” X 2) but its a thick one.

The patterns on this shawl are made from scratch. I use roving I dye and draw on my felt, layering colors. There is no short cuts. I do not use commercially made fabrics or felt or paper to create this. Its all original, unique and handmade.

Currently I ship canadian orders with UPS, and USA and international with canada post. Some of my USA clients did not experienced any delays in the delivery.

TARIFFS
All packages sent to USA will have taxes and duties calculated at checkout and detailed in a separate line. I am back shipping with Canada Post as it is the most cost efficient and quick since it is duties paid upfront. I will include the necessary papers on the package.
Since this is a new process I don’t know if there will be delays but your package will have tracking. I cannot guaranty you wont have extra fees at the delivery.

I Always mix lots of different textures together. Art yarns will be showcased better if you use more simple yarns with them. It will also keep the overall weight lighter. You can do two rows of art yarns with two rows of singles, when knitting or 4-5 rows of singles then 3-4 of art yarns.
First time using art yarns? Try one skein to knit or crochet mittens wrists. I use 8-10 mm needles or crochet, and go looser when needed.
Spice up your purls with some texture! You can alternate all sorts of yarns to create a very unique knitted project. Pattern here
