The shawl measures 55” X 27” his widest part. I started by weaving a scarf on my rectangle loom with my hand spun hand dyed yarn, added the fringe and decided to add the felted part. Lots of art yarn appliqués on the felt part. Very decorative piece. Not long but can be worn different ways.
All my fibre is hand dyed by me, all yarn spun by me. No pre felt , all felted from scratch.
This shawl is made of merino. I include a bronze large safety pin to hold it.

5 skeins: medium woven triangular scarf, medium woven triangular shawl
6-9 skeins: medium large triangular woven shawl, knitted shawl
9 skeins and up: small medium sweater

Alternate rows of heavy textured art yarns with single or smoother yarns, it will keep the work lighter and showcase the texture contrasts
NEEDLES
I use Prym circular needles, because they have a special tip shape helping pick up stitches of art yarns. I also use Prym ergonomic hooks, they are amazing.
