This carded art batt has been prepared like my own batts I use to spin my art yarns. It is made to spin chunky to bulky yarns. The wool has been carded, not combed, and I don’t use roving, just carded wool, raw fleece non carded and curly locks. It will make textured art yarns. I suggest to split the batt in slices to spin it.
HOW MANY SKEINS?
1 skeins: mittens wrists, accents in a hat, or in weaving, needle and wet felting
2 skeins: beanie hat, texture in a knitted scarf, cowl, neck warmer
3 skeins: short knitted or woven scarf (loose)
4 skeins: long woven scarf (woven loose), knitted scarf, small woven triangular shawl, knitted shawl
5 skeins: medium woven triangular scarf, medium woven triangular shawl
6-9 skeins: medium large triangular woven shawl, knitted shawl
9 skeins and up: small medium sweater
TIPS
Alternate rows of heavy textured art yarns with single or smoother yarns, it will keep the work lighter and showcase the texture contrasts
NEEDLES
I use Prym circular needles, because they have a special tip shape helping pick up stitches of art yarns. I also use Prym ergonomic hooks, they are amazing.

Mainly I use merino 22 micron and sometimes BFL 23-25. And lots of other fibres like tencel, silk, curly locks and mohair.
