One of a kind merino felted cape coat with floral scenery and woven collar. This coat took countless hours to design the floral pattern. This is all made from scratch hand dyed at my studio merino wool meticulously painted strike by strike. Very labour intensive physical work. The wool is then rubbed, massage and rolled until the felt process is completed with water and soap. I spun and dyed the yarn. This would easily fit to a variety of sizes due to the shape. The cape passes over the head. It is all merino wool 22 microns. There is 2 entire skeins of art yarn spun for this cape for the fringe and a lot of yarn appliques . The collar is woven also with my hand spun and took an entire skeins as well.

1 skeins: mittens wrists, accents in a hat, or in weaving, needle and wet felting
2 skeins: beanie hat, texture in a knitted scarf, cowl, neck warmer
3 skeins: short knitted or woven scarf (loose)
4 skeins: long woven scarf (woven loose), knitted scarf, small woven triangular shawl, knitted shawl
5 skeins: medium woven triangular scarf, medium woven triangular shawl
6-9 skeins: medium large triangular woven shawl, knitted shawl
9 skeins and up: small medium sweater
TIPS
Alternate rows of heavy textured art yarns with single or smoother yarns, it will keep the work lighter and showcase the texture contrasts
NEEDLES
I use Prym circular needles, because they have a special tip shape helping pick up stitches of art yarns. I also use Prym ergonomic hooks, they are amazing.
