This is a step by step tutorial on how to spin a single from my art batt. The tutorial is divided into 8 videos between 1 min to 15 min each.

In this class I show you the basics of spinning bulky yarn single from an art batt, which is different than spinning from a roving. The batt is made of merino, merino fluff, mulburry silk and tencel. I am spinning this on a macht from spinolution which is bobbin driven.
Dans ce cours je montre les bases du filage d'un fil simple bulky a partir d'une nappe cardée, ce qui est different de filer une tresse du moulin. La nappe est faite de merino, de merino fluff, soie mulburry et tencel. Je file dans cet episode avec un rouet macht de spinolution, tensionné par la bobine.

HOW MANY SKEINS?
1 skeins: mittens wrists, accents in a hat, or in weaving, needle and wet felting
2 skeins: beanie hat, texture in a knitted scarf, cowl, neck warmer
3 skeins: short knitted or woven scarf (loose)
4 skeins: long woven scarf (woven loose), knitted scarf, small woven triangular shawl, knitted shawl
5 skeins: medium woven triangular scarf, medium woven triangular shawl
6-9 skeins: medium large triangular woven shawl, knitted shawl
9 skeins and up: small medium sweater
TIPS
Alternate rows of heavy textured art yarns with single or smoother yarns, it will keep the work lighter and showcase the texture contrasts
NEEDLES
I use Prym circular needles, because they have a special tip shape helping pick up stitches of art yarns. I also use Prym ergonomic hooks, they are amazing.

HOW MANY SKEINS?
