This scarf has been hand woven with the yarn I spun, the warp is cotton (pale pink and sage green). Most of the colours are natural from the wool fleece but there is a little blush pink here and there, like the felted hood and the crocheted lace edge. I did free motion stitching on the felt. There is a wooden ring with tie in each side to attach the scarf.
Cette écharpe a été tissée avec la laine que je file, le fil de chaîne est du coton (rose pâle et vert sauge). Les couleurs sont en majorité naturelles, de la couleur des moutons, mais j’ai ajouté du rose très pâle, comme la capuche en feutre et la bordure au crochet. J’ai fait un peu de couture décorative sur la capuche. Il y a un anneau de bois et une tresse à chaque extrémité pour nouer l’écharpe.
HOW MANY SKEINS?
1 skeins: mittens wrists, accents in a hat, or in weaving, needle and wet felting
2 skeins: beanie hat, texture in a knitted scarf, cowl, neck warmer
3 skeins: short knitted or woven scarf (loose)
4 skeins: long woven scarf (woven loose), knitted scarf, small woven triangular shawl, knitted shawl
5 skeins: medium woven triangular scarf, medium woven triangular shawl
6-9 skeins: medium large triangular woven shawl, knitted shawl
9 skeins and up: small medium sweater
TIPS
Alternate rows of heavy textured art yarns with single or smoother yarns, it will keep the work lighter and showcase the texture contrasts
NEEDLES
I use Prym circular needles, because they have a special tip shape helping pick up stitches of art yarns. I also use Prym ergonomic hooks, they are amazing.
