I did this handbag with my handspun yarn. I spun from local wool, alpaca, only canadian fiber. The wooden frame is also made by me, I used this frame to weave in circle to make both side of the bag with various handspun yarns. Closure is made of felted alpaca with my own handmade wooden buttons. The shoulder strap is made of handspun yarn and a recycled leather round braid. All is handsewn, all handmade. You will not find another bag like this, its a statement piece.

HOW MANY SKEINS?
1 skeins: mittens wrists, accents in a hat, or in weaving, needle and wet felting
2 skeins: beanie hat, texture in a knitted scarf, cowl, neck warmer
3 skeins: short knitted or woven scarf (loose)
4 skeins: long woven scarf (woven loose), knitted scarf, small woven triangular shawl, knitted shawl
5 skeins: medium woven triangular scarf, medium woven triangular shawl
6-9 skeins: medium large triangular woven shawl, knitted shawl
9 skeins and up: small medium sweater
TIPS
Alternate rows of heavy textured art yarns with single or smoother yarns, it will keep the work lighter and showcase the texture contrasts
NEEDLES
I use Prym circular needles, because they have a special tip shape helping pick up stitches of art yarns. I also use Prym ergonomic hooks, they are amazing.
