Expertly crafted from merino fiber, this shawl has been created by hand weaving hand spun art yarns.
The woven section has been made on a hand made loom especially crafted for this project and woven with my own hand spun yarn. There is a considerable amount of different yarns involved in this shawl (8). On this particular one I crocheted a border on top to add length and shape (see it can be folded). Just the fringe took an entire skein of hand spun.
Everything I make starts from white wool loose fibre I hand-dyed to achieve rich, saturated and precise colors.

This capelet is quite thick and weight around 900 grams (2 pounds)
Please refer to the photos of the shawlette worn to see the different ways to wear this. Over a coat or with broader shoulders or bust the shawlette will sit higher and will be more around your neck and face while the fringe will be just below your bust lane. I took various photos of the shawlette worn to see you the differences in how it can be worn. Remember the model is petite 5’2”.
it measures 26” at the widest laid flat and 21” top to bottom.
This is woven in bias which means the shawl is stretching when you move your arms similar to a knitted fabric.
This shawl is my medium large size version.
made from 100% merino 22 microns wool.
I take extreme care making this piece in every single details. Note that the hundreds of ends of the fringe have been delicately secured with thread to assure their longevity.

Currently I ship USA orders with Canada Post only, canadian order with canada post or private courrier, and international with canada post unless I can only ship courrier due to new regulations.
Currently Canada Post suspended service for some EU countries that is why you may see only fedex, ups or dhl. Please remember if you pick A private carrier for international import and duties fees are applicable once the package reach your border.

A note about my felt and care
Felted is achieved by rubbing and massaging very vigorously. I superpose multiple layers of wool “hair”. My felts are never the same thickness everywhere. Depending how I want it to move with the person, some areas are thicker, some are thinner. Typically the middle is more structured and more thick when the sides are more thin. They even may have some see through areas.They should be handle with care and delicacy. Keep Your shawl in a ventilated area avoiding direct sun exposure. To refresh use a steamer or a lavender mist. Message me if you are in doubt.
Please remember felt is NOT a WOVEN fabric. Therefore, it DOES not fray. IT can be cut and left alone.
My roving is natural white, not bleached. I dye it in my studio with acid dyes that are fixed with citric acid. I DO NOTuse vinegar, therefore, there is NOvinegar smell in anything.
I use about one cup of Dawn dish soap per shawl. Therefore, it is CLEAN and does not smell anything particular.
My felt are rinsed for about 15 minutes until it is bubble free. Then, I soak it in Costco hair conditioner and rinse, which does not have any particular smell.
As a result, there is no particular smell other than wool and remnants of the rinsed conditioner.
Be aware than ALL pets are attracted to wool.
My wool is 22 microns. it is soft next to the skin. I would never spend that much time and care on fibre that my clients would not appreciate. I choose those microns because it is soft and have body enough to hold shape. If I go lower, which I tried, it will be result in flimsy hats and shawls.
