I do a very limited quantity of accessories in a year and Ocean Rose shawl is part of it. My third shawl of 2023. It is about 60% 40% silk (yarn and ribbon. All hand dyed. Wool is all my hand spun dyed and spun by me. Colors inspired by my partner underwater photography in the red sea. It measures 82” X 34”. I provide one big safety pin to wear it in multiple ways as shown on photos. This is a light shawl suitable for summer. Please be careful when inserting the pin. If it needs to be refreshed use a steamer (no ironing!!!).

HOW MANY SKEINS?
1 skeins: mittens wrists, accents in a hat, or in weaving, needle and wet felting
2 skeins: beanie hat, texture in a knitted scarf, cowl, neck warmer
3 skeins: short knitted or woven scarf (loose)
4 skeins: long woven scarf (woven loose), knitted scarf, small woven triangular shawl, knitted shawl
5 skeins: medium woven triangular scarf, medium woven triangular shawl
6-9 skeins: medium large triangular woven shawl, knitted shawl
9 skeins and up: small medium sweater
TIPS
Alternate rows of heavy textured art yarns with single or smoother yarns, it will keep the work lighter and showcase the texture contrasts
NEEDLES
I use Prym circular needles, because they have a special tip shape helping pick up stitches of art yarns. I also use Prym ergonomic hooks, they are amazing.
