This is one of my elaborated felted project I did in the past year. It has multiple layers with yarns and locks encased for an intricate texture surface. My inspiration is landscape. This is made from fine merino, silk, tencel and long wool curls. I provide a bronze safety pin to hold the shawl closed. I have included a tremendous amount of outside photos to show many ways to wear it and details of the texture work.
I made this piece in preparation for my participation for Engulf show which will be presented at the 2024 Montreal fashion week. This piece is not part of the show but it helps me going in that path.

HOW MANY SKEINS?
1 skeins: mittens wrists, accents in a hat, or in weaving, needle and wet felting
2 skeins: beanie hat, texture in a knitted scarf, cowl, neck warmer
3 skeins: short knitted or woven scarf (loose)
4 skeins: long woven scarf (woven loose), knitted scarf, small woven triangular shawl, knitted shawl
5 skeins: medium woven triangular scarf, medium woven triangular shawl
6-9 skeins: medium large triangular woven shawl, knitted shawl
9 skeins and up: small medium sweater
TIPS
Alternate rows of heavy textured art yarns with single or smoother yarns, it will keep the work lighter and showcase the texture contrasts
NEEDLES
I use Prym circular needles, because they have a special tip shape helping pick up stitches of art yarns. I also use Prym ergonomic hooks, they are amazing.

Mainly I use merino 22 micron and sometimes BFL 23-25. And lots of other fibres like tencel, silk, curly locks and mohair.
