This coat has a long story that I will try to keep short. It was initially a sleeveless vest, on which I added woven sleeves. Just making the sleeves took a couple of different yarns I spun especially for this, and I made 2 looms frames to weave them. Then I decided this needed to be fancy and have leaves and flowers patterns. I pre felted the fabric, handle this carefully (prefelt is just melting barely holding together) and cut all the ivory patterns you see on the coat. I applied this on my vest base, unfelted. This technique considerably extend the felting process because you need to manipulate the project much more delicately and slowly to do not disturb the pattern and let it attatch to the vest base. It took me hours to just felt (roll the project in a blanket). Normally at some point I would move to a quicker way to felt but I couldn’t due the flowers pattern. Once this was completed I hated the whole result and kept this in a box out of my sight until I decided this was time to salvage this laborious work, cut and rework it. I had some merino silk pieces I made earlier that I organically cut to transform the coat in a A line cut. I added width to the hips and made the bottom uneven. I inverted the sleeves so they would look more like a cape, allowing more freedom to the body. This way the coat will fit looser and can be worn over a sweater. The hole for the arms is generous, please triple check the measurements below.
faux leather panels are repurposed they have small flaws.
I also added as planned at the beginning all the free motion stitching. This took a full work day to be completed.
At the end giving the work been done on that coat I added a complete lining with faux leather on the front. There is also 2 vintage buttons. This way the coat flows better on the clothes, it will prevent wear and helps keep the shape. Its a beautiful quality of sateen lining.
This coat took an entire week to create from start to finish.

For now on, I no longer accept returns. I provide enough photos and information online, and I’m available to answer any additional info prior purchase. Taking so much photos, editing them so they look as accurate as possible, uploading them, takes a considerable amount of time on top of creating the products. I have been selling online for over 18 years. If you can’t deal with screens calibration differences, and don’t read description and don’t look closely at my photos, maybe its better for you to buy in person. Im sorry but I can’t handle the uncertainty of returns anymore, as well as all the costs involved.
However: things happens and I’m open to offer you a store credit.
