Every year I do a limited amount of felted hats. Every each of them is unique and had is own personality. This particular one is made of my favorite colors. It is adorned with leaves with free motion stitching. Some tencel and silk. It is on the firm side of felted hats.
this hat will suit medium heads ~ it measures 23.5”and will fits heads with 22.5“ to 23.5“ head circumference.
model has 22“ head circumference and the hat is ok.
This hat shape is half cloche half top hat so it does not need to be fitted as it is more versatile. I suggest to take the hat a little larger than your head circumference as it is not a knit. It stretches a little but never as a knit.
I included a tie inside to adjust it a little please dont pull it too much.
for some hats I can add a band inside to make it smaller, the fee is 25$.
I can machine embroider your name on the brim for 10$.
HOW MANY SKEINS?
1 skeins: mittens wrists, accents in a hat, or in weaving, needle and wet felting
2 skeins: beanie hat, texture in a knitted scarf, cowl, neck warmer
3 skeins: short knitted or woven scarf (loose)
4 skeins: long woven scarf (woven loose), knitted scarf, small woven triangular shawl, knitted shawl
5 skeins: medium woven triangular scarf, medium woven triangular shawl
6-9 skeins: medium large triangular woven shawl, knitted shawl
9 skeins and up: small medium sweater
TIPS
Alternate rows of heavy textured art yarns with single or smoother yarns, it will keep the work lighter and showcase the texture contrasts
NEEDLES
I use Prym circular needles, because they have a special tip shape helping pick up stitches of art yarns. I also use Prym ergonomic hooks, they are amazing.
