Each season I do a limited serie of fantasy felted hats. The beret is soft merino 19 microns, tencel, curls and mohair, not very thick so it is malleable and you can play with shape.
photos shows the same hat…just worn different ways.
Beret measures 22” inside circumference. Made to be worn sitting on your head like a normal beret no pins necessary. Fits perfectly on model 20.5” head circumference.
Will fit small 20” to 21.5” heads.

HOW MANY SKEINS?
1 skeins: mittens wrists, accents in a hat, or in weaving, needle and wet felting
2 skeins: beanie hat, texture in a knitted scarf, cowl, neck warmer
3 skeins: short knitted or woven scarf (loose)
4 skeins: long woven scarf (woven loose), knitted scarf, small woven triangular shawl, knitted shawl
5 skeins: medium woven triangular scarf, medium woven triangular shawl
6-9 skeins: medium large triangular woven shawl, knitted shawl
9 skeins and up: small medium sweater
TIPS
Alternate rows of heavy textured art yarns with single or smoother yarns, it will keep the work lighter and showcase the texture contrasts
NEEDLES
I use Prym circular needles, because they have a special tip shape helping pick up stitches of art yarns. I also use Prym ergonomic hooks, they are amazing.
