Each season I do a limited serie of fantasy felted hoods. The hood is soft merino, not very thick, no see trough. Lots of leaves and flowers with free motion stitching. Lots of needle felting. Many hours of labour.
Will fit medium large head - 22” to 24”
This is a large hood as many requested a larger size.
the height is 12“ from the top bas to the bottom, measurement taken on a head not flat and not including the green swirly tip on top.

HOW MANY SKEINS?
1 skeins: mittens wrists, accents in a hat, or in weaving, needle and wet felting
2 skeins: beanie hat, texture in a knitted scarf, cowl, neck warmer
3 skeins: short knitted or woven scarf (loose)
4 skeins: long woven scarf (woven loose), knitted scarf, small woven triangular shawl, knitted shawl
5 skeins: medium woven triangular scarf, medium woven triangular shawl
6-9 skeins: medium large triangular woven shawl, knitted shawl
9 skeins and up: small medium sweater
TIPS
Alternate rows of heavy textured art yarns with single or smoother yarns, it will keep the work lighter and showcase the texture contrasts
NEEDLES
I use Prym circular needles, because they have a special tip shape helping pick up stitches of art yarns. I also use Prym ergonomic hooks, they are amazing.
