This is is the niddy noddy you can see in my videos. Ashford has 3 different niddy noddy sizes, this is the middle medium size. It mesures 15.5” long and the skeins mesures 30” long. It’s the perfect size to wrap 100 grams skeins (which is the yarn amount you can spin on the normal bobbins on Ashford wheels). The length of the niddy noddy is enough to wrap sample skeins by using only one half 15.5”. The wood is raw non varnished, with curved T bars, which help prevent the yarn slipping. This wood is lighter than pvc pipes, and the bars could be dismantled easily for traveling. Just un twist on bar to lay it flat in a bag.

  • HOW MANY SKEINS?
    1 skeins: mittens wrists, accents in a hat, or in weaving, needle and wet felting
    2 skeins: beanie hat, texture in a knitted scarf, cowl, neck warmer
    3 skeins: short knitted or woven scarf (loose)
    4 skeins: long woven scarf (woven loose), knitted scarf, small woven triangular shawl, knitted shawl
    5 skeins: medium woven triangular scarf, medium woven triangular shawl
    6-9 skeins: medium large triangular woven shawl, knitted shawl
    9 skeins and up: small medium sweater
    TIPS
    Alternate rows of heavy textured art yarns with single or smoother yarns, it will keep the work lighter and showcase the texture contrasts
    NEEDLES
    I use Prym circular needles, because they have a special tip shape helping pick up stitches of art yarns. I also use Prym ergonomic hooks, they are amazing.
