I did this portrait by sketching with my sewing machine in free motion (like for quilting) and I hand embroidered over with commercial threads and yarns and also some pieces of my hand spun yarns.
The canvas is a vintage wool blanket on which I superposed cotton gauze. The frame is made of wood and ready to hang on your favourite wall.
The portrait weight approximately 500 grams, if I overcharged shipping I will refund the extra paid.
Measures 13”x15” but the wooden frame is a little bit smaller than that.

HOW MANY SKEINS?
1 skeins: mittens wrists, accents in a hat, or in weaving, needle and wet felting
2 skeins: beanie hat, texture in a knitted scarf, cowl, neck warmer
3 skeins: short knitted or woven scarf (loose)
4 skeins: long woven scarf (woven loose), knitted scarf, small woven triangular shawl, knitted shawl
5 skeins: medium woven triangular scarf, medium woven triangular shawl
6-9 skeins: medium large triangular woven shawl, knitted shawl
9 skeins and up: small medium sweater
TIPS
Alternate rows of heavy textured art yarns with single or smoother yarns, it will keep the work lighter and showcase the texture contrasts
NEEDLES
I use Prym circular needles, because they have a special tip shape helping pick up stitches of art yarns. I also use Prym ergonomic hooks, they are amazing.
